Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Location: Omaha, NE

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Full-Time | Direct Hire | Overtime Available | No Weekends

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a fleet of CAT and other heavy equipment, including excavators, grinders, wheel loaders, and skid loaders.

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, complete day-to-day repairs, and help keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Repair oil leaks, hoses, bearings, sensors, switches, and other components.
• Perform arc, MIG, TIG, and aluminum welding as needed.
• Source repair parts and maintain service records.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Diesel Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, or related field OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Welding experience required.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
